Hello!
Mode Theatre Company (formerly Blackboard Theatre) is a dynamic and innovative group of educators-turned-performers, dedicated to bringing the realities of the education world to the stage. After a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2019 with our debut play Special Measures, we successfully navigated the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic by launching a podcast and producing virtual performances.

In 2023, we returned to the Fringe with The Academy Trust, which also sold out and received widespread acclaim. Building on that success, we’re thrilled to present our latest project, The Academy Trust: Under New Management. We are proud to be supported by Community Union as we continue to bring this important work to audiences, first at the Buxton Fringe and now with a nine-show run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Both The Academy Trust and Special Measures are available on all podcast streaming services.

We look forward to continuing to share our stories and opening up important conversations through our work.
